This month’s newsletter is packed with exciting recaps from the 6th Annual National Conclave of Chambers of Commerce in The Bahamas held on October 4th, 2024. Prime Minister Philip Davis, challenged business leaders to “be brave in the pursuit of innovation.” In his address, Davis urged Bahamian leaders to reimagine traditional business models and explore fresh, bold approaches to secure the future of the Bahamian economy.
This month, we also share a full recap of the Conclave event, which gathered Family Island Chamber members, government officials, and businesspersons from across The Bahamas. Among the top priorities discussed were much-needed upgrades to electricity, water, and communications infrastructure, particularly in Grand Bahama and Abaco, where leaders voiced concerns over ongoing disruptions that hamper business growth.
In addition to the Conclave, the Chamber hosted a special Power Brunch event with Royal Caribbean. Attendees left with fresh insights into how Bahamian businesses can partner with industry giants like Royal Caribbean to bring new opportunities to the tourism sector.
Trade remains a top focus for the Chamber, and this month’s Trade Section brings new pathways for Bahamian businesses to learn and expand. Upcoming events include the upcoming Bahamas Bureau of Standards and Quality (BBSQ) Made in The Bahamas Town Hall Meeting on November 14, 2024.
We’re excited to welcome new members to the BCCEC this month! Each member adds value to our growing community, and we encourage everyone to connect, share ideas, and collaborate on projects that contribute to a stronger, more dynamic Bahamian economy.
The newsletters are distributed on the 15th of each month, so don't miss out! Share them with your networks and stay tuned for more exciting updates from BCCEC!
