BCCEC Webinar Recap: Understanding VAT Reduction: What Businesses Need to Know

On March 21st, 2025, The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers' Confederation and the Department of Inland Revenue have been working diligently together to strengthen their partnership and ensure that members are well-informed about upcoming legislative changes. In response to numerous inquiries from members, the Chamber recognized the importance of providing clear and direct information regarding these changes.
To address this, the Chamber reached out to Miss Shunda Strachan, Acting Chief Valuation Officer and Controller, to facilitate a webinar that would offer a platform for members to hear directly from the Department. Hosted by Dr. Leo Rolle, BCCEC CEO, the session provided an opportunity to ask questions, go over relevant legislation, and better understand how these changes will impact businesses and individuals across the Bahamas.
Throughout the webinar, the DIR team walked attendees through the upcoming changes, clarified common concerns, and shared insights into the Department's recent initiatives. The DIR has been actively engaging with the public, ensuring that concerns are addressed and information is disseminated effectively.
