The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Bahamas Branch will be hosting two introductory ADR courses in the coming weeks; Introduction to International Arbitration (February 25 and 26, 2021; 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day) and Introduction to Mediation (March 1 and 2, 2021; 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day). The courses will be held virtually online.
The course presenters are the eminently qualified, Retired Justice Rubie Nottage (International Arbitration) and Mrs. Caryl Lashley (Mediation), who are both CIArb Fellows and CIArb Approved Faculty. The course fee is $440 per person and this includes the course material and the Assessment Fee for the Multiple-Choice Assessment that will take place after the course. Candidates, after successful completion of this course will be eligible to apply for Associate Membership in CIArb.
We recommend these courses to members of your organisation as The Bahamas charts the way forward in ADR and creating an Arbitration hub. Mediation skills are required in almost every sphere of life -- for example, counseling, commercial and marital disputes. In addition, the Judicial Department is introducing a Mediation Adjunct to the Supreme Court system so that parties have a dispute resolution alternative to the court system.
If you would like to sponsor members of your organisation or there are members who are interested in investing in professional skills training kindly contact us as at CIArb Bahamas ciarbbahamasetc@gmail.com . Flyers and Registration forms for the courses are attached for your information.
