The Bahamas Chamber of Commerce and Employers Confederation (BCCEC) unveiled $300,000 worth of renovations to its offices last week.

The BCCEC, in a release sent to Guardian Business, wrote: “On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the BCCEC held a star-studded press event and mixer to unveil its $300,000-plus newly renovated and rebranded building, and to pay homage to the 28 businesses that donated to the cause.

“Timothy Ingraham, chairman of the BCCEC, praised Dr. Leo Rolle for hitting the ground with a sprint since being onboarded in May. He further opined that, what began as a simple conversation with Dr. Rolle to repair a leak in the roof, soon mushroomed into a full-scale, $300,000-plus renovation and rebranding exercise, surpassing all of our expectations.”

The release also said: “Don Williams, vice chairman of the BCCEC, expressed his gratitude to the businesses that came on board willingly and noted that the Chamber is indeed alive and well, firing on all cylinders. In his closing remarks, he said, ‘This outpouring of support is proof of the power of partnerships and strategic collaboration such that this simple PPP, done on a micro level, yielded the results that create an environment conducive to growth and prosperity.’

“Dr. Leo Rolle, CEO of the BCCEC, said ‘This exercise would not have been possible without the genuine care and support of the 28 businesses that we intend to publicly thank with a plaque and letter of commendation.’ He thanked his ‘small but mighty’ team at the Chamber for their continued support and unwavering commitment, before going on to recognize the 28 businesses for their donation.

“Dr. Rolle noted that, ‘Notwithstanding our efforts, there is still much to be done. BCCEC representatives are active on every major government-appointed board in The Bahamas. From those platforms, we advocate for policies that promote a socioeconomic environment that fosters sustainable growth of businesses and employers in The Bahamas. Our success rests on your continued support, so we encourage you to become a member, refer a member and support the Chamber through patron sponsorship, event attendance or with your time and talents. Together, we can, and will, continue to make a difference, one business at a time’.”
